Clearly you have never seen any of the Austin Powers films or you would've gotten the reference. :P In other words, yes. :millie:
I did, but remember, that I am always watchin translated versions... some name got to be changed for the jokes...

I was suddenly struck with the confusing notion that David Simpson sues Dana Simpson for ripping off his comic.

But that would be very confusing.

Um, when DCS got "the operation", David Simpson died and Dana Simpson was born. Therefore Dana Simpson s guilty at worst of grave-robbing.

And dare I say it? The version of the strip with the human girl was better than the one with Ozy. The human girl is at least sincere when she says her line.

Even the self-plagiarisation can't make this lose its charm. I've always really liked this. Unlike the infamous "blue string" strip that so many people seem to point to for childlike innocence in ozy and Millie, I think this is a stronger candidate for that sentiment.

I always liked this one myself. A sadder face would have looked more appropriate, however.

Point taken. I sometimes forget they do that.

I don't think Ozy needs to look sad. He is making a statment, but I think if bubbles popping actually made him depressed then he would need to be put on some meds or something.

yeah, then it would be more of a 14-year-old emo kind of thing to do than an 8-year-old cute kind of thing

Emo is a word that's thrown around far too easily these days.

I agree with that but I think getting depressed over bubbles popping is about as emo as you can get.

Charlie Brown wouldn't be emo anyways. Despite all the bad stuff that happens to him he always tries to remain positive and hope for the best.

It doesn't imply depression at all. It's a more fleeting, innocent emotion than that.

(Also, *wince* at the grammar in that strip, Muninn.)

Fun fact of my childhood: When i was a kid, i actually cried once when i saw those detergent suds (the foamy bubbles) from the washing machine slowly disappear to oblivion. Good thing i got over it :ninja: .

Which is why the comic works with Ozy looking happy but doesn't work with Girl looking like somebody just shot her dog
