I'd almost forgotten that I used to draw Ms. Mudd in that checkerboard vest. Actually, there have been a lot of checkerboard things in the strip. Millie's bedspread, for instance.

In college art classes, I used checkerboard patterns a lot. There's just something about them I like.

I think managing a factory for 43 years is pretty impressive. You must have gotten the promotion at a fairly young age unless he is really old.
