This would be more effective if we didn't see 'the monster' even in its silhouette form, like if the 'camera' were from behind the monster's shoulder so we only saw that it was huge and shadowy, because Llewelyn... he's not all that scary.

Still, digging this arc.

that third panel is pretty scary looking to me, brings to mind some kind of cold-war era poster? or a movie cover? I'm not entirely sure what it's making me think of.

Llewellyn in silhoutte would still be pretty scary, with the tail and devil horns and those strange blank eyes.

This is a punchline I wouldn't write now, most significantly because I no longer believe it. Sadly, I think people scare themselves incontinent about nothing on a pretty regular basis.
