Setting your VCR to tape a television show automatically? How nerdy.
If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. (Revelation 2:5, NIV)

Yeah, only nerds who are into retro junk would do something like that. Damn nerds with your VHS tapes and your original Gameboys and your 8" floppy disks and your Amiga computers.

you really would have to be a nerd to not only have set the VCR clock to work right, but then set it to start taping once the clock gets to B5's showtime.

Hey, I still have a BrickBoy and last I checked it still worked. That was a gaming system that you could kill a man with and still be able to enjoy a rousing game of Tetris in six glorious shades of green afterward.

My Game Boy can only display four glorious shades of green. (At once, anyway.)

(And I had Donkey Kong instead of Tetris.)

(Also, I have never killed anyone with it.)

(Also also, obligatory link to this video of a Game Boy that survived a bomb in the Gulf War.)

Clearly, I have just exposed my ignorance on the actual specs of the brickboy.

And then when he got home he finds the schedule was changed and he taped an hour of wrestling.

Does introducing a character for the sole purpose of making fun of him for being a nerd undercut the whole message of the strip?

...I'm going to go with "no" and just move forward.
