Pretty odd for a dog to be tired after only one throw of the frisbee. Also, very long tounge.

I think they've been playing for a while.

Does anyone else think the last panel is odd? The kid seems upset that Raine needs a rest and Raine is looking at the frisbee strangely.

Whatever. Still a nice strip of a boy and his dog.

Well, Raine is that kid's property. How often does property ask for the same consideration as a TRUE best friend. We call dogs "Man's Best Friend", but if dog's were truly sentient and behaved no differently than any human, would man really be DOG'S best friend if people treated thinking dogs the way we treat dogs in the real world? It would be a pretty one sided friendship, I would imagine.

I imagine the title of this chapter, "On the Fence" is more a metaphor for Raine's frame of mind. She still loves her person but is at the beginnings of her self-exploration and yearning to be free..

Point taken. It makes more sense when I look at it with your POV. Thanks!

mm, neat. didn't know DCS had married her BF. I also feel like the paragraph in the "creator's corner" detracts from the page, since she's saying "oh hey! I used to be a boy but I'm not anymore. I don't really think it's important to note, though" and that pretty much has an implicit "ACTUALLY I DO", whereas the FAQ regarding the same subject has about the same effect without bringing as much unwanted (or some word less strong) attention to the fact

actually it is a reference to the fact that they are sitting on a fence

If you're wondering, I used to be a boy, at least superficially; I'm now a girl
Didn't you used to be a guy?

Yes. I'm not anymore, legally or physically.
Wow, After checking the FAQ and Creator's corner page, Seeing those lines actually made me laugh! Sorry DCS, but i really can't help my self. :-P

I think this comic would make more sense when read as a chunk.
