well, what I did was set up the strip with two windows, kept one 100% size, and used the other to zoom in for my normal coloring work.
I then booted up SnagIt and set up a profile to capture an image in a specific area every 6 seconds after I started it.
When I was done, I used ImageReady to import all the pictures into a single gif animation, set it to .1 delay between images.
That there is 150 images in the end, down to a single gif under 100kb

Ahh so you just set one program to 'film' you as you worked away!

Very nice *nods* but that's probably not how you actually color them yes?
Well... here's how I color...

You start with the background and then colour over it, filling up all the white areas too. WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT???

*shrug* I do the background last.

Theres only one thing I do differently. I usually across all panels the same color. So, I color Millie's fur in each panel, then hair, etc etc.
Otherwise, what I posted is more or less exactly how I color things. =)

You did not just suggest you use the brush tool.
If so... that must take a while.

I most certainly do suggest that I do use the Brush Tool. Shocking!
Really though, it doesn't take me long. I use a graphics tablet, and a full strip takes maybe...30 minutes at most with constant interruptions (I don't think I've colored a strip in the past year without someone interrupting me for something)
I started out coloring HR strips using the magic wand and paint bucket technique, with brush strokes to define areas (mostly fur color borders), but it didn't feel right to me.

Oh. Am I the only one here without a tablet!?!?
I use the poly-lasso + ctrl+delete method, and the pen tool for the muzzles.
