Hmm... I think the bronze gradient is a bit of an overkill... (not that I'd be able to do broze any better) other than that nice colors. :)

And now I wonder anew how Llewellyn managed to sculpt these statues so quickly.

Probably something to do with the neutron flow.

Reversing the polarity of it, you mean?

Where's Jon Pertwee when we need him? :P

He regenerated a while ago--he's a young guy in an overcoat and sneakers now :P

Jon Pertwee. Apparantly notable for struggling with technoblabble (...so he decided to audition for the lead role in a science fiction series because...?), and so the script editior kept having to change lines for him into easier to say ones. Apparantly he went up to the script edditor (Who I believe was Terrance Dicks at the time) after looking at the script. "This line, reverse the polarity of the neutron flow..." 'Yes, it's a bit difficult isn't it, do you want me to change it for you?' "No, I love it."

And so to appease him to the rest of the technoblabble, they pretty much included that line, reverse the polarity of the neutron flow (or more accurately reverse the polarity, usually of the neutron flow but sometimes of something else like the sonic screwdriver), in every story he did.

...I'm not entirely sure if it ever entirely stopped being included within Doctor Who scripts as a generic piece of technoblabble throughout the rest of the initial 26 year run...
He regenerated a while ago--he's a young guy in an overcoat and sneakers now :P
And a scruffy pin-stripe suit. How do you pull off looking scruffy in a pin-stripe suit, anyway?

Just a detail, but aren't bronze statues green? I might be mixing up with something else, of course.

Only if poorly maintained after oxidization has started to take place, I believe. (The green stuff basically being the copper equivilent of rust) Course, I might be getting my metals confused here.

This is an example of oxidized copper. (idk why I can't make it show up. Just click.)

This is new copper.

Actually, that still depends on whether the copper is actually supposed to turn green, which is intended in some situations (in these scenarios, they deliberately let the copper oxidize).

OK, so the 'poorly maintained' part only applies sometimes, then.
