Funny strip, lovely colouring, but it suprises me that Millie uses the term eye doctor rather than optician...

That's what I usually say. I tend to switch back and forth between eye doctor and optometrist. Must be a North American dialect thing.

I think maybe he had her say "eye doctor" because the general public probably doesn't have as big of a vocabulary as we do. *shrugs* I think I'm done now.

...She's also only 10...

On top of that, at least on the middle eastern seaboard, thats what you cal it half the time, especially if you're a child.

Besides, isn't the term "opthalmologist"? Or is that just what it says on my eye doctor's office door?

Millie's mom looks surprised in that last panel.

Different types of eye doctors, actually. One is concentrated on vision, while the other on the overall health of the eye, if my understanding is correct.

Hmmm...

An opthamologist is someone who works with more serious problems on the eye and can do surgeory if needed. An optomitrist just looks at an eye, making sure there's no apparent major problem. It's kinda like a pediatrition versus a specialist, I think.

Heck, I wear glasses. I hate them.

They're somewhat frosted. I haven't bought a new pair in years...
