Well, I'd like to first apologize to all who had to wait more than a week to get this back. Thankfully I backed this up before doing stuff, and this was ALL I backed up, so consider yourselves quite lucky. <!--emo&:P--><img src='
http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... tongue.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tongue.gif' /><!--endemo--><br><br>Anyway, the reason there was a problem is because right after I got everything working on the new connection, SOMETHING (don't know what) caused a serious error. It forced me to hard reset the machine, something you don't do with linux normally. Well, it really borked the hard drive something awful, to the point of no return more or less. I've been working all this week to bring the server back up. And now things seem to be running ok again. <br><br>Now, onto site stuff. Images that were uploaded on the forums, unless linked, are no longer here. This includes a lot of avatars, if they were uploaded. If you linked to an offsite avatar, you should be ok. Every post should be here. I had to make a little hack in the db to bring this up, so if you notice anything really bizarre, please msg 5hfifty. He will then relay all issues to me.<br><br>As far as the website itself, 5h has to recover those from a borked computer. He promises to have that up double quick.<br><br>Once again I apologize for the inconvenience, it completely sprang up out of nowhere. And now, as was promised 1 week ago, newer faster speeds ahoy!

I need to verify with other people that nothing else is wrong with stuff. Already I've found one problem. Image (and therefore avatar) uploading does not seem to be working. I will work this weekend to rectify the error. I need some confirmation on this.<br><br>Oh, and stickied.

And all is right once more. For those about to post, we salute you, MancuNET, for managing to restore DC. <!--emo&:)--><img src='

MancuNET, the first time people had problems uploading avatars, another member reminded 5hfifty to use CHMOD 777 so that the board could allow avatar uploading.

chmod 777 is bad, very bad. That's like saying "Hey guys everyone can read write and execute from me go go go!"<br><br>Perhaps I'll try a chmod 755. But thanks for mentioning that, it could be the answer. I'll try it out.

Whenever 5h or anyone with the power to do so has the time, if the avatars can be reset to 125x125, and if we can edit our member titles again, I'd be grateful. I know the site's in chaos, but if that can be done after all the important things settle, I, and I believe the rest of us, would be grateful. Again, get the important stuff settled first, this is all secondary. Thanks in advance.

Excellent, MancuNET. I feel better knowing that someone in a position to do something about it knows what those settings mean (especially since I don't). I am sure the one you suggested is much better, since I'm sure that is much more limiting and closer to offering only what we need.

Tavis and anyone else who shrunk their avatar: The max avatar size is back up to 125x125. :)
