The Thingy thread, as successful as it has been, has been operating for months without a scorekeeper. I'm not sure what to make of it. Should we go on without the scorekeeper? Wait and hope DNWQ will return someday to give the next winner one point for all of the hard work trying to hold on to the Thingy all this time? Restart and find a new scorekeeper? I dunno. I thought I'd put this discussion on the floor for all those forum game players and the people that sympathize with them.

It doesn't even look like anyone cares about scoring points anymore. The thingy has...evolved...into a higher form of message board game-ness. Well, actually, the thingy thread is just an excuse for us to set each other on fire, but if we don't release our pyro-agression there, then who knows where our built up pyromaniacal urges will leak out. I'd say the thingy thread is the one thing that's been keeping the board from being burned down.

Points are relative.

I had no idea.

I say keep it as is without scoring. It's a good home for some very bizarre happenings.
I say promote a new game person, althogh there's not much point in restarting. I liked it when just all of a sudden ,the last things to happen in the thingy thread were dropped and something completely new started out of the ashes that may not have had anything to so with the last posts. It helped add to the chaos. Any plans you had must most likely be scratched, adn whole new situations arise more quickly. Plus, the scorkeeping adds to the competitive nature of the thread, which adds something to that particular game.

Oh, and Zaphood, things get just as bizzare, but there are clear and definate endigns and beginings to each scenario. It really adds something to the whole experience of 'the thingy'. Trust me when i say that gor really nuts when there was scorekeeping.
If you've done things right, people won't be sure if you've done anything at all.

I say we elect a scorekeeper who will be ignored completely anyway. I ignored dnwq when I played. I just like setting people on fire, as was said before. or we could stop keeping score and just fight over the thingy.

point wise, i think i won anyway.
