Server Move

I moved the forums to a different server. What does everybody think? Above all else, the pages should load a lot faster now.

Sorry if the corresponding name change causes problems for anyone. We don't need to keep this domain name. If anyone wants to see it changed, now is the time. If anyone wants to help me set up a definecynical.net/.com/.org name, that'd be cool. (I was hearing from some people DC should get it's own .net)

I've never had any problem with it. I don't know about all the servers and stuff, but it seems fine for now.

This server seems to work pretty well. The pages are loading a lot quicker than before.

aside from having to tear thru my brain with a seive to try and remember exactly what my password was (lol), I like the move change. Pages upload a great deal faster now.

It's not the name change I don't like. Just the use of a meta-refresh when you were fully capable of using a 307 (temporary redirct) or 302 (found).

Yes, I get picky about these things.

Great! The whole website loads faster now

would be cool tho if someone access the old url (http://definecynical.mancubus.net/index.php) will get re-directed into the new adress we have.

I don't mind the server move, really. I noticed it stopped freezing up Firefox whenever I loaded a page.

As a sidenote, the colors on the note at the old URL look pretty festive!

I have been having more problems with the main page freezing after the move.

YES! It's pretty easy; all you need is a credit card and access to the nameserver(s) for the site. (Contact your webhost to get ahold of those.) Then head over to HareLink (cheapest DNS vendor I know of) to buy the domain and set up the nameserver link. At just over US$10 a year, it's worth it.
