have you heard? apparently, an online community went offline for a couple of days, but stayed off for weeks! It caused a mighty uproar, too!

Sounds to me like a simple desire to belong coupled with feelings of insecurity when this belongingness are taken away.

... Or we could go with Freud's theory that you are all thinking of sex 24/7. I don't really see how it applies but sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, and a Freud is just a crackpot who disturbing theories about human nature.

Freud was an ass. I'm depressed because the world sucks, not because my parents were mean.

Ass.

I didn't particularly enjoy studying his theories. I prefer a mixture of the cognitive and biolgoical perspectives.

I once read some of a book from the 20's that disproved Freud's theorys about Lesbians and stuff... I think it was called the Psiology of Sex (if this isn't an appropiate topic to discuss just tell me personally I don't mind as long as everything is kept in a mature nature). We don't think about sex 24/7 but when you think about it we do think about it alot. Of course I'm the type of person who was bored so decided to write up something about how humans are naturally selfish and proves that free will exists and actually made it coherent. Not that that has to do with anything at all but since we're talking about psychology it would hurt. I'm rambling on now I think...

so long as we don't start like... posting porn or anything, I believe that sex is an appropriate topic.

Err, off topic to say the least, I think we're better off leaving anything concerning sex outside these boards. Just a personal opinion.

While it may be an off-topic topic, it shouldn't be taboo.
