Here's my point:

While I don't think it will happen here (we seem to get along enough on all counts) I know of fandoms that wehn they brought in topics or other things that had nothign to do with what they were fandoms of they all started to hate each other. We're all freinds but only because of O&M. I don't want to see this board go the way of hating each other. I'm just preaching caution.

If a topic lead to people expressing there religious views and some went and said they were atheists then the people who beleived would (i'm hoping) accept their view (if they don't then haven't you learned anything from the comic) but still harbor a little disagreement with them because of that. But expressing views and discussing helps us grow and learn more, and makes us better people with experience.

What is better?

Just think of it as soda preference. He likes sunkist, she likes sprite, they like Dr. pepper, I like stewarts key lime, you like that... i forgot the name...

...would we fight over something like that?

NO says I! we're only immature enough to fight over the thingy. other so-called big things should not provoke each others wrath. If it does, we may need some sort of countermeasure. I perscribe pizza.

*coughkeylimerulescough*.... hey, joking! but seriously...why don't they make more key lime sodas? theres just one brand now. they could monopolize... OH NO!!!!

...where was I? [/comic relief]

MUG ROOT BEER!!! Actually, I like cream soda better, but I've got to hand it to that one commercial from Mug.

In any case, Norsenerd's main concern seems to stem from the fact that discussing non- Ozy and Millie events might strike a nerve amongst some people. While there's already a lot of posts off the O&M topic, most of these don't relate to much and tend to be taken rather light-heartedly. Norsenerd seems to be concerned that a World Events section might be taked more seriously and thus could be taken as offensive by some.

Perhaps it's just me, but I think O&M tends to bring out the most open-minded people; it seems that the people who enjoy O&M the most are more thoughtful and reasonable than most. I point to how well David writes O&M for that. A closed minded person who isn't open to new ideas isn't going to enjoy O&M. At the very least, with it's current membership, Define Cynical would work with a World Events forum. Nobody here is going to try to insult or attack anyone else intentionally, and I don't think that any fan of O&M is going to be so petty to do so.
Still mostly here.

Mug has the best comercials a nd always has. I especaly like it when it apeared in Peanuts cartoons. At-least I think it did. Anyways Mug is good but still IBC is number 1. I love root bear and evry one I tast has it's own quality to it that the others don't have. I can identify the major brands by tast and sometimes want a mug or barks instead of IBC but overall I have to go with IBC. There are some realy good root beers from independant botelers as well as horable ones. I like to go to them because they're not big bad coprarations but that's jsut me.

erikbarret articulates my concerns acuratly. I'm just urging caution. I myself have no opinion but am rather playign devils advocate. Not evrybody's goignt o agrree with you. That's inevedable. I porbably won't.
