Brain tumors suck.

Postby GeorgiaCoyote » Wed May 21, 2008 12:32 pm

Lord knows I'm not the biggest Ted Kennedy fan. That being said though I do hope the malignant tumor in his brain is not beyond treatment. Of course he'll be able to get the best care in the world for it but even that doesn't matter if it's very far along. My prayers are with him and his family. I've known to many folks who suffered and died from brain tumors.

His brain tumor, I'm afraid, is of a kind that allows few victims to survive even three years. I'd almost rather he died suddenly.

My mind flashes back to Dark Victory and Ikiru, two classic movies I saw a few months ago about people who knew they would die soon.

I'd rather he die a slow and painful death. I can't stand the entire Kennedy family.

My uncle just left hospital this week after a third operation to remove a tumour from his brain. Dude's got a photographic memory, sharp as a tack. Trying to have a conversation with him after the second operation, where something went wrong and an emergency shunt had to be put in the drain blood away and he couldn't even put a sentence together - that was horrible. Bloody awful.

So I agree with this thread title. Brain tumours are bastards.

Are there any tumours that don't suck?

benign ones.

that sucks for Ted Kennedy, but with what he's been through, I would not be surprised in the least if he managed to simply live on with this.

Clearly this isn't good news for Ted Kennedy or his family. It's also clear that this is no reason to start a flamewar, regardless of whether one likes or dislikes him.

I don't know. Depending where the benign tumor is and its size...it could suck. Generally though yeah that's not so bad.
