The figures did surprise me yesterday; now I know why. I assume this was a simple mistake, but it got me thinking: if a newspaper with an agenda wanted to mislead people, it could make a "simple mistake" on purpose and issue a correction the next day, knowing full well that the correction would gain less attention. It's particularly tricky with internal poll results, since few outsiders would know the truth. Of course, they couldn't do it too often, or correction readers would start to catch on.Corrections:
Thursday's poll question results incorrectly stated that 87 percent of respondents said the federal government should not fund stem cell research. In fact, 87 percent said it should fund the research....
...Right?
