Yup, that's right. Kenneth Lay has kicked it.
Too bad he gets out of punishment.

Ken Lay isn't dead, he's still alive, just like Elvis.
And if you have a belief in the afterlife he's probably getting his punishment now.

Perhaps. Lay was one of the people responsible for running Enron into the ground and lying about its financial health. A lot of employees' pensions were wiped out.
I imagine it was the stress from both the trial and his upcoming sentencing that caused his heart to give out.

I don't like to joke or cheer at anyone's death. I say may he rest in peace.

He can rest in peace when he fixes all the peoples saving bonds he screwed over.

Warning: Potential controversy, but I don't see why.
I'm sad that Ken Lay died. Not because I feel sorry for him, or his wife. But because he never got to face the horrible bowels of prison. Also, more importantly, if he was convicted and sentenced, the money might have gone back to the families. But since he died before the sentencing, the money stays with the family (his wife). Which is total bogus.
There has been no autopsy yet. I would not be so surprised if this turned out to be a suicide. (Not saying that it was, I just wouldn't be surprised).

OUCH. See, kids, this is why a slow court system is a BAD THING.

That said, yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if it was suicide too. Although, darned if I know what he thought HE was supposed to gain from it.

I don't think he deserved death. Just a load of jailtime.
