Insurgencies (and terrorists especially) don't have the same kind of infrastructure as our military and government. The only real solution to the problems in Iraq is a prolonged occupation, or possibly colonization.

One down, numerous others to go.

Not that I know how the insurgents' system works but I actually think this might put a dent in the attacks. It'll be a small one, perhaps only affecting the men directly under his command, not other independant groups, but I still think it'll have some impact. Of course it's a safe bet to expect harsh reprisals against this event.

Well, given that this guy was the mastermind behind many of some the most damaging attacks made in Iraq (one of the most recent attacks attrributed to him was on a Shiite mosque), this will at least put a dent in any current strategic plots.

at least this will decrease the attacks on the troops there.

Sadly, I can't find the article that said the US over-emphasized Zarqawi's influence so there would be an actual face on the terrorist threat
