Speaking of "Bushisms".
Doonesbury owned bush

And after more learning up on the current candidates, I've fallen back to my "I don't care" view of the future of the presidency.

9/11: I don't mean to offend anybody, but I'm sick of hearing about 9/11. Yes it was a tragedy; but we need to stop talking about it.

The Vietnam War: Who gives a damn? It was thirty years ago people. Let's try stick to topics a little more relevant; like the economy and this little thing called the War on Terror. Speaking of which...

The War on Terror: Bush terribly mishandled the War on Terror. As I recall, Bush said that Osama Bin Laden was our primary target. Then all of a sudden he "dosen't matter" and we're going after Saddam? Bush is an ignorant jack*** who doesn't deserve to be president. John Kerry, although not a good choice, is the lesser of two evils.

Swiftboat Veterans For Truth: Yes they did "serve" with John Kerry; by which I mean they were in Vietnam at the same time as John Kerry. The fact is these guys are not exactly telling the truth. Not that it's surprising since politics seems to get seedier and seedier every year.

The Govenator: This guy is a joke. The reason he is a Republican is because of Richard Nixon. I'm no historian or anything; but I believe he resigned due to the Watergate. Not exactly the guy you want to model your politics after. Also, STOP USING THOSE DAMN MOVIE LINES!

Gay Marriage: Bush is wrong. Gays have as much right to marry as straight people. He always refers to the "sanctity of marriage"; but shows like 'Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire' and 'Married by America' have dispelled that argument.

John Kerry: In the interest of fairness, John Kerry is the lesser of two evils. He isn't a good fit; but he's the best option. He needs to stop talking about the Vietnam war as much as Dubya does. I don't agree with him on everything but his ideas are much more appealing to me then Bush's.

I'd rather Bush won than Kerry because Bush has a track record of starting very large wars, unlike Clinton who, while he involved the US in its fair share of conflicts, tended towards small-scale conflicts that did not require a big conventional military. For me, War means guaranteed employment. Such is my selfish nature.

I'm voting Libertarian, however, because I think people have grown too dependant on big, inefficient daddy government. Such is my hypocrisy.

I do not care to get into a discussion about politics at this point anymore then I care to talk about religion anymore. All I'm going to say is if I were old enough, I would vote for Bush for two simple reasons:

1. Kerry is a horrible, shameless liar and a dishonorable man. I don't want someone like him in office. In my opinion, Bush is the lesser of two evils.

2. I stand firmly by my belief that we would've had to go into Iraq sooner or later. I won't explain why here unless you PM me desperately wanting too know why, as the explanation is too long to say. I think over all, Bush has done an OK job. Not the best job in the world, but certainly better then others.

But I really hate politics. I hate politics to the bitter core of my being, and yet I spend so much time thinking about them because of the simple fact that it is these stupid politicians who run our country. I can't stand it. I just want to stop hearing about them.

Talkin to the guys coming back from Iraq, including a couple who just got back from Najaf, I'd say what we're doing in Iraq is good, and is working, but we'll be there a long time (5-10 years) before the place is cleaned up and working again. As I mentioned before, I don't have a problem with this. What does bother me is the myriad other dictatorships we could overthrow (most with substantial less aftermath) that we fail to because they aren't "terrorists." The ONLY justification for the Iraq war is creating a free society. Put it this way- Japan is prevented from having a large military for similar reasons that Saddam was restricted from having NBC weapons. If Japan built a major military, but remained a democratic nation, we would not be justified in invading them. If we leave Iraq now because we aren't willing to lose 1000 servicemen for the sake of 25 million people, then everything we've done will have been a waste.

You're right except for one thing: Instead of "both," you should say "all."

The kind of person most likely to succeed in politics is also the worst kind of person to be in power.
