Yeah, apparently Egypt is planning on slaughtering ALL pigs within its borders.

So, why are they doing it? Well, most of the country's pig farmers are (minority group) Coptic Christians.
As would be most of the country's pig eaters, if I understand Muslim dietary laws correctly. So in effect they're forcing the whole country to follow their religion's dietary restrictions. Ho boy. And you thought that sort of thing only happened in America. ;)

U.S. health officials have predicted that the swine flu virus would spread and inevitably kill some people, just as seasonal flu does.

Swine Flu is downright overrated IMO. Airpollution makes more potent disease alone and we don't even do anything about it.

I saw a CSI Miami image macro about swine flu but I forget how it went. All I know is the punchline was "swine flu".
