Why you should never read only The Express

Postby Tom Flapwell » Tue Aug 15, 2006 2:19 pm

From the Fit section of The Express:
20: Time, in minutes, of violent video game watching that can desensitize people to real-world violence.
I seem to recall learning that no study had ever found a link between games and violent behavior, apart from the temporary adrenaline rush. This figure makes them sound corruptive nevertheless.

Just one problem: What study? The quote above is all the paper gives. Absolutely nothing on who found it out, where, when, or how.

I realize that this paper is about reporting in bitesize form, but this looks like one of those 90% made-up stats.

Studies have actually shown the oppiset but since when does the press care about things like the facts. They lied to get us to go to war with the Spainards, so its not like they don't have a history of this stuff

The internet has desensitized me more than any video game can

Hehee, there used to be a newspaper columnist in Chicago named Mike Royko. When his paper (the Sun-Times) got bought by Murdoch, he switched to the city's other newspaper. His reason: "No self-respecting fish would be wrapped in a Murdoch paper."

News of the World and The Sun is Murdoch's, I don't know about the others.
