Lamest news of the year

What's That Say? For the first time, researchers have demonstrated the ill effects of mindless reading -- a phenomenon in which people take in sentence after sentence without really paying attention. Researchers say readers who zone out most tended to do the worst on tests.
Guh.

There's a reason nobody bothered to research it before.

...What did they expect to see by researching this, seriously?

I know this happens to me sometimes. When I'm reading a book that I like and I zone out, I go back and read it over again. The people who do badly on tests because of it are just to lazy to pay attention, or re-read it.

You wanna know something funny though? In class (More specifically Geometry soon to be Algebra II, and Biology soon to be Chemisrty) I Would zone out and doodle all the time, but I would hear everything the teacher saiud and would remeber about 95% of it. It's weird.

Of course that's during lectures, I do zone out during good reads (Like HP and Stephan King) and not realize what I've read.

Money, of course. I doubt they were doing this for free.

Suprisingly this is like me. I can remember anything boring being lectured when trying to distract myself, but when I try to focus I end up zoning out. Damn you short attention spansssss!!!!!!!!!!

Heh, I do the same. Almost everything I draw is done during my teachers' talks.
I'm here, you just can't see me!

Triggerpoint is my not so new webcomic, and currently under heavy work before it resurfaces.

I'm in training right now for a new position at work, and I definitely zone out during the Powerpoint presentations...and I mean, completely zone out. And yet, I'm 3rd in my class of 48 with a 98% test average. I actually am myself surprised.

And the worst part is, we have everything that is on the Powerpoints in PDF files on our computers.
