Lewis got it. It is none because peacocks don't lay eggs. Peahens lay eggs.
Clever, LTT, except that as a part of the riddle we must presumably assume that the peacock does lay eggs ('if a peacock lays eggs, how many eggs does it lay?').

I say 6 eggs.
HA!
In this case, the riddle needs rewording. Removing the 'if' would be sufficient.

The answer to the last one is the block of ice.

Here's another:
A man stares through a dirty soot-smeared window on the 22nd floor of the office tower. Overcome with depression he slides the window open and jumps through it. There is a sheer drop outside the building to the ground. Miraculously after he lands he is completely unhurt. Since there is nothing to cushion his fall or slow his descent, how could he have survived the fall?
If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. (Revelation 2:5, NIV)

Hyperion and nickspoon got it.

Umm... ok How about this one.

A couple died and went to heaven. When they got there, they noticed that everyone was naked. When they walked around they saw one couple that they knew was adam and eve without asking them. How did they know?

We have two riddles going at once now. I'll try to answer Nick's:

The building had suck deep into the ground, so it wasn't that long a fall from the 22nd floor.

Lewis got the answer to mine. I'm kind of low on riddles right now so I'll open the floor to anyone with a riddle. The only obligation is that the person that posts it has to say which person got it first.

The answer to nicks riddle is:

He was a window washer and he was on the outside of the building cleaning the windows.

This is actually 4 riddles in one, and each can (and should) help you figure out what the answers are to the other ones. Get logical now:

(1)Seven I have, yet I don't use them, you do.
(2)These seven contain 168 pieces total, of which many only see a portion.
(3)These 168 pieces each contain 10,080 other pieces, and are used in recognizing what piece of the 168 we are using.
(4)In turn, those 10,080 pieces contain 604,800 OTHER pieces, and unlike the 10,080 pieces aren't important unless you care to be precise.

1) What am I?
2) What are these?
3) What are these?
4) What are these?

Yeah, that was simple, yes?
LOL
Try this one:

"I am quick, shiny and hard to hold.
I have been used by many to mine for gold."
What am I?

Mr. Segovia got the answer to mine.
That's the ticket, Mr. Segovia!
8)

I have been used by many to mine for gold."
What am I?
A river?

Nope! Good answer though!

Light? It is quick and shiny and miners did have helmets with flahlights on them. Light is hard to hold.

(I'm so happy right now. I made fourth chair on tuba in highschool district today. Yay!!! Pretty good for a freshman, right?)

Glad you made the chair! Hope you move up in time!
(As for your answer, it's also a good try, but not the correct one!)

soz op but I gotta agree with nick: if the peacockandahalf already liad eggs, it's established that it's already capable of laying them; maybe if you also changed it so that a peack and a half lays eggs, but having the 1.5peacock be a name for another species, then ask how many a peacock will lay: still shady, but logically people would have a harder time arguing :V

*edit* well I guess you can say that two eggs-and-a-half dont equal one egg by that logic v0v

As for the holding gold riddle, let's go with mercury: It's called quicksliver, def. shiny as a MEHTUL, and any liquid is hard to hold much less ones emitting cancer fumes, as well as it's uses in amalgamic gold mining
