Remember sticks that in some languages there are words that look and sound like something in one language but mean something else in another.

Ex. The German word "will". Sounds and looks like will but means want in english.

oh, so the point is that he's saying a false cognate that is the english word for row, but actually means something else in spanish?

if he knows that it is the english word for row, he would not actually be speaking spanish by saying it. he would be speaking english. If he doesn't know, why would he be saying it?

no one. I said the english word for row. the pimp is saying a word in spanish to the hooker, which is pronounced "row", because he knows that "row" means row in english, even though it means something else in his own language.

In which case, the pimp says the word "row" to the hooker.

Obviously this riddle is going nowhere so I'll give the answer. The answer is "Rojo"( pronounced ro-ho) which is the spanish word for red. The word sounds if the pimp is saying row-ho.

OK next riddle

How does a cowboy ride into town on Friday, stay for two days and leave on Friday?

Close enough. The man was Jean-Dominique Bauby. The book he wrote was The Diving Bell and The Butterfly.
