Jetting off to Geneva (that's in Switzerland) tomorrow, to go and see what all the fuss is about. I'll be back Friday/Saturday, and until then the forum is in the capable, dexterous and generally quite pleasant hands of the moderators.

Toodle pip.

Have fun! Don't do anything silly, such as going back in time and preventing the LHC from being built.

I'm jealous. :( This is almost as cool when I went to the Superconducting Super Collider a few years ago. (Windows are all smashed and everything, makes for great urban exploration.)

Have fun nick. If you guys manage to find god somewhere in that data, put in a good word. That seventh/eighth circle/sphere of heaven looks NICE.

Back again. Switzerland is an awesome place, and CERN is amazing. Went to see the magnet labs, which is where they build and test all the massive superconducting magnets they use to steer the beam. One of the magnets was at 1.9K, making it quite literally one of the coolest places in the universe.
