Define Cynical Fan Forums

Some of you may or may not have noticed that I have seldom been online lately. There are reasons for this, and I feel I should state them.

Well, there are basically two reasons, on the whole. One reason is that, this summer, I found out that pretty much 3/4ths of all of my friends are moving away somewhere after this summer. So I've taken the time to spend as much time with them as possible before they leave, which takes a way a significant amount of online time.

The second reason, and perhaps the more pressing one, is that I've finally decided to get cracking on my dissertation. Dissertations are, as anyone should, pretty serious business and require lots of time. Basically, if I didn't force myself to really start working on it now, I would have eventually had to rush it, which is not good.



But now...


Tonight I got into, by all accounts, a pretty bad wreck. No one was hurt... but it was my fault. And my car was pretty much totaled, and I'm pretty sure the other driver's is too. This is the last thing I needed right now, because do I not only not have a car... but now I have pay for loads of shit.

So this is a pretty bad time in my life. Hopefully it doesn't get much worse than this.

Basically this. I fully agree, real-life friends should take priority, especially those you won't see again in a long time. Just keep in touch sometimes, alright?
