Macs don't get viruses.

It doesn't have to. It's inconceivably stupid and uptight "followers" act as a virus in itself.

Well, I'm still not fully back in business yet. (I'm typing from another computer.)
Apparently, I got the Win32/Sality virus, which is pretty nasty. It disabled Task Manager, disabled regedit, shut and locked firewall, infected every .exe in program files, and killed all the anti-virus programs I tried (I finally got one to work), I'm pretty sure it has a keylogger, intercepts email, steals passwords and personal information, all of that good stuff. :/ (Time to change all of my passwords!!

)
I still don't know if it's all out or not... there are some virus files that keep on regenerating. I might just drop sixty bucks for a new hard drive and start over from scratch.
Thanks for all of the well wishes everyone. I'll be back soon. (Hopefully)

Sounds serious. You'd better send me a list of your login names and passwords so I can make sure that they're secure.

It's been almost a freakin month and this thing is still not gone...I'm having forum withdrawals.
I'm trying to get help at bleepingcomputer.com, and you can follow my misadventures in the realm of virus removal world
here if you so desire.
Might just bite the bullet and reformat if things don't shape up....lose all my data though, which sucks. Oh well.

Solution: Buy a bunch of DVDs. Store data. Reformat. Lather, rinse, repeat. ????????? Profit!

Ka CHING!
Back in business...after a complete reformat and clean XP re-install. Lost everything...but what the heck, at least all of my files aren't corrupted anymore.
But it's good to be back to the land of the living.
