No clue. Australia didn't host the olympics recently (besides Sydney), so maybe the kookaburra wasn't an Olympic mascot. Also, there's definately a cultural line to what mascots become popular where. In '96, Izzy (that stupid thing) had a huge marketing campaign in the US and even had a video game and a short animated movie, yet I'm willing to bet other countries never heard of him. On the other hand, Syd may have been famous in Australia, but up here, no one heard of Syd. No one cared, although I don't understand why, because platypus is the coolest animal even invented (just look at the thing, it's funny as heck). Also, am I the only one here who never knew what an echidna was outside of Knuckles?

I took the time to learn AFTER i played sonic three. I wasn't exactly keen on biology at any point and time before then, or even really after then, but i do like to understand information given to me, in whatever form its given.

I assure you, BSP, he's all man.

For a long while after the game, I didn't even know how to pronounce echidna. Even now, all I know is that they're a type of ant eater and they come from Australia.

Australia has some funny animals. Echidnas, platypus, dingos. True proof of geographic isolation-induced variations in evolution. If I major in bio in college, I want to go to the Galapagos Islands to study evolution. Amazing how a flock of birds 10,000 years ago will land to 2 different islands only 2 miles away from each other and evolve into two extremely distinct species over time.

*sigh* BS Pro, I've been an advid Sonic fan since I was four. I seen/played/read him in most any medium of entertainment he was ever in. He's got superior strength, a deep manish voice, and many a reference to as "he." If he is a woman, then he's a very ugly one.

I believe that every female from Sonic the Hedgehog has some clothing. He's definetly male.
Anami: Sex with a giant, black scorpion seems fun.

<SteveThePocket> Geez. I want more of this stuff now. Now I know how a horny guy on an imageboard feels.

BSP, a few things...
One, Knuckles is deffinately male, and if you ever read the instruction manuals back then it clearly stated that.
Two, have you played any recent sonic games with the voice-overs, or seen any sonic movies/shows? All have a deep male voice, usually rather angry sounding.
If you've done things right, people won't be sure if you've done anything at all.
