Heya all,

Just joined & thought i'd introduce myself... i don't usually do forums 'cause they tend to be overwhelming, but i've joined the chat too so, a better place to interact with me is there.

i joined (fiiiinallleeee) 'cause i wanted to give DC some support on the latest changes on the site and i'm gonna head over in that direction as soon as i'm done with this post!

Basic Overview: i'm a rabid fanatical tomboy in her mid-forties (nooo, tomboyness is not a weird phase to outgrow, dangit!) who is also a hippie at heart. i knit, crochet, and make my own soap (and other toiletries) from scratch.

i love cats, slowly back away from most dogs & i've always wondered what it would be like to own a ferret. i used to keep fish before my autistic son Josh decided that he wanted to join them in the tank. (still trying to work out how to hermetically seal a tank whilst also making it possible to do weekly maintenance!)

i think i'll stop now before i really spill over into the TMI department, and just say that i'm happy to be here (even as a lurker!)

Welcome to the forums! Holyman83 will be along shortly with your new flamethrower; meanwhile lemme show ya around. The new pool is out back, down that hall and to the left. The kitchen is equipped with a cake faucet in case you're ever in the mood for cake. Um, what else. The closet is full of rutabega.

Be sure you don't take a wrong turn and end up in the vortex of doom. We just had it cleaned and we don't want anyone going in there without taking their shoes off first. Also be careful going into the women's restroom; we kept getting complaints about there being no couch since it got stolen a few years back, so we put in a new one. Thing is, though, it leads to an alternate dimension, and we've been known to have problems with alligators coming out of it. (That might explain why female members don't stay here long, actually.)

Yeah, that was long. Now you know why I didn't want to risk losing the first post.

Thankee kindly! My old flamethrower was getting kinda worn out & rather did need replacing, so i'm looking forward to that!

S'alright... as a hippie, i'm almost always barefoot ;)

oooo, this place is full of shiny things! In the Sluggyverse, i have been wont to hide shiny things under the couch, but i think i'll just slowleeee back away from that one in the women's room...

. o O (i ain't no woman anyhoo.. 10yo tomboy, dangit!)

Yeah, that was long. Now you know why I didn't want to risk losing the first post.
Heh. And as you can see, long doesn't faze me... this is why i tend to lurk in fora... i have to obsessively post to every single point & nearly kill myself in the process!

gforce422 is awesome because:
-He made the absolute nicest comments about me in the other topic. I didn't respond to them yet, because I suck, but they are greatly appreciated! =D
-I would say he would also be a good runner up as one of the nicest people alive.
-He joined the IRC sometimes. But not enough, I say! Chat moar =D
-He is evidently only 18 year old but he could easily pass for 25. =D
-He is a drummer like *I* am and this in itself is cool.

Welcome aboard to the forums! :) Limousine services are located over there, handled by yours truly. And don't worry about the cost, it's all being handled by some resident dragons in the background ;)

On that note -- *steals the Thingy and gives it to Harena as a random welcoming gift*

Welcome to DC Harena! There's a infinite Root Beer dispenser on your left and a highway on your right. (We still don't know how that got there...) And beware the drunken Mac truck drivers hauling chickens to New Jersey. They have trouble discerning pedestrians form those yellow lines on the road.
