Coincidences!

In this thread you share odd and QUIRKY coincidences that happened to you recently.

So, anyway, today (just now, in fact) I was bored and browsing Something Awful's old Mallard Fillmore megathread, because I quite enjoy getting enraged over stupid cartoons. Anyway, I was on this page:

http://forums.somethingawful.com/showth ... number=273

This is a pretty old (internet) page, from May 31st, 2008. And in it it references this evidently well-known YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sarYH0z948#movie_player

I know this video is old as hell, but it was actually the first time I saw it. Then I saw a reference to xkcd in the comments, so I went to xkcd's site to check out TODAY'S strip. And it was THIS: http://xkcd.com/626/

I suppose this isn't a big deal at all, but damn it if it didn't weird me out at the time.

Lollll

Well mine isn't too special but it happened about half an hour before you made this thread.
<nickspoon> He acts as though he becomes statically charged if he walks across a carpet.
<Muninn> I become statistically charged after reading the guiness book of records
And I was thinking about the Guiness book of records BEFORE HE SAID THAT (wondering what it would take to set a new record for longest time asleep). I think the greatest coincidence is that we both had coincidences at about the same time. Stuff like that hardly happens to me every day.

I showed someone the Charlie the Unicorn videos on YouTube. The creator of them is Jason Steele.

I then showed the same person the Tragic Fate webcomic (specifically this one). The comic's author is none other than Jason Steele.

I had never before noticed this. I'm not entirely sure that it's the same author, though the conincidence of names would be just as strange if these are, in fact, two different men named Jason Steele. Judging by the style of humor, I would say that it's the same person.

One day in last December my brother missed his Christmas Concert, and he was really upset. In hopes of cheering him up we went to Peter Piper's Pizza. As my mom was trying to comfort him, GNR's "Don't Cry" started playing on the radio. I lmao.

I can't name any specific incident right now, but these have happened to me before and it always leaves an odd feeling, not unlike touching a cold wet sock full of mushy bananas.

I can't name any specific instances, but this is the kind of thing that happens to me:

I hear about something that I haven't heard about in possibly years. Like... The Rescue Rangers for example (Not a real one mind you) and then, for the next week, I suddenly hear about it more than once. From more than one source. AND IT WEIRDS ME THE CRAP OUT. I'll have to post about it next time it happens.

Arlo this is a GOOD TOPIC. I will think of it next time a coincidence comes around.

EDIT: This morning fnar I thought of Heath Ledger's line "Why so serious?" and the way he says it with sibilance. Not something I've thought of in the past, no reason to think of it today. Just now I tuned into Tech House on DI.fm and the tune was sampling exactly the sound bite I had thought of earlier into its beat. Felt odd that it should randomly come up again in the same day.

EDIT: Also yesterday I was in a secondhand store about to buy Prey (game). I had it in my hand but put it back to look at other things before buying. It crossed my mind that I should put it behind other things lest someone decide to nab it for themselves upon seeing it. For some reason I didn't bother and the thought of it being bought by someone else plagued my mind for the next few seconds. Then a young girl came along and picked it up straight away like a physical incarnation of what I was hoping wouldn't happen.
I lol'd to myself and hoped she would actually buy it just to make coincidence complete and teach me my lesson... but she didn't. Oh well. \: The game was good (worth $9) but I would've settled for the lol of disobeying myself and paying for it through coincidence.

That's a weird coincidence, because I follow people around until they take their phone out of their pocket and then ring it.

While texting someone (after after about two dozen texts exchanged), she became distracted by something. Half an hour later, I pulled my phone out, wondering if I'd missed a text and hit the left generic button to open the menu JUST as I got a text, thereby opening it rather than going to the menu. The timing was perfect to a fraction of a second.

This happens to me as well, which is only notable in the fact that I only receive calls maybe once a day, if that.

This happens alot. Sometimes when I think something, my brother Alex would usually say what I'm thinking. It gets annoying really.

...take your brother to a psychic. This may be serious.

I actually did a test on him and he showed to have possible psychic abilities but then again it was something I saw on TV.
