Watchmen movie, eh wot?

Anybody else seen the Watchmen movie yet?

I thought it was quite good. Pretty faithful to the graphic novel.

My favorite part is when Rorschach and that other guy fight a giant genetically engineered psychic squid demon from an alternate universe. Best use of CGI ever.

Went to the midnight showing of it on Thursday night, was thoroughly impressed. Now I haven't read the graphic novel, so I'm sure that some parts confused me a bit more than they would have otherwise, but it was still followable. I'm somewhat ashamed however that I didn't predict the plot twist at the end until it was flatly given to the audience.

My only complaints:
1. Waaay too much frontal nudity of Mr. Manhattan. For srs.
2. The sex scenes seemed a bit out of place.

my friend told me we would either see the midnight premier, or the Dead in concert for his birthday, but it looks like we'll just see the Dead.

I still want to read the comic before I watch it.

This explains your complaints.

Since you haven't read the book, you are allowed to complain of this. It's pretty common in the book as well.
2. The sex scenes seemed a bit out of place.
These aren't as common or in-depth I don't think in the book from memory, but they're still there. They took the scene too far on Archie, I think.

So yeah, It was pretty faithful, with a few things here and there that were odd like how the researchers died.

But yeah, overall it was rather faithful, and I enjoyed it even being in the VERY FRONT ROW. Both theatres they allowed us to be in (running the same time) were packed, so yeah. I'm going to see it again next week and actually see it in front of me instead of above me. Also, going to stay through the credits that time to see if it's worth staying :P

The opening credits/montage were the most awesome/depressing ever.

I just heard My Chemical Romance covered Dylan's Desolation Row for the end credits. Was there a Dylan song theme for the movie and was it all by MCR?

Apparently and supposedly many of the songs on the soundtrack were mentioned in the original comic.

I'm sure by this point everyone's seen this, but on the off-chance that someone hasn't, this is the greatest Watchmen fan-production I've seen. Sheer genius.
