Nah, from what I gather from the site, he was a trader with a pretty good fortune, gambled a lot on a trade deal, lost and became bankrupt.<br><br>He disappeared, and when he came back he declared himself Emperor.<br><br>Fascinating story, I'd never heard about him.

Hmmm...I took my AP US History exam today, and he wasn't mentioned in it! Odd how they would leave off such a prominent figure in our rich background!
