That was interesting, but I took it. The results put things in perspective a little more, actually. The sex results made me lol; Personal was very low, others was mountained a little near the end, and public skyrocketed at 10.

They didn't list Scientology under religion. I am super duper offended.

in the past, I think we've actually had one of the guys in charge of the survey posting it here O_o

They didn't really build this with the general public in mind; it seems to be assumed that if you're taking the survey at all, then you're part of the furry scene.

For example, I got into O&M for the characters; they could have been humans, E.T.s, computers or robots...whatever. That they happen to be furries was pretty much immaterial to me...kinna like how I rather enjoy the old Disney show TaleSpin more because I have something of an interest in airplanes and completely regardless of the species of the protagonists.

Expressing this position? Not really an option on this survey. Not really. I tried...but most of the questions seem to assume that your furry bit has been set to TRUE right off the bat...

Seems to be a different person. The one you're talking about is from these two topics. Going to the "about" page for that one yields a different real life name than the one given on the FAQ page of this site.

That's actually stated right there in the FAQ as well:
I am not a furry; should I take this survey?

No. The bulk of the questions are geared towards a furry audience, and the results are liable to be skewed when non-furries are considered. HOWEVER, even if you consider yourself only slightly attached to the fandom, the questions may still be relevant; choose the appropriate option when asked how strongly you consider yourself a furry.

Well, when your most frequently asked question is, "Whereinhell is the FAQ...?" ;)

Well, even then, I still fall in this undefined margin. I'm not attached to the fandom, I don't consider myself a furry at all; I consider myself quite indifferent to the presence of anthropomorphic characters so long as the writing is good...and I am, indeed, a fan of a few things which fall under the 'Furry' umbrella. They don't really cover that.

I mean, I'm a furry the way I'm a Spider-Man fan: I dug the Raimi movies, never really read the comics, I don't get all fired up about Spider-Man the way I do about, say, Star Wars.
You can't really say that I'm a fan; I don't attend Spider-Man events, I don't wear Spider-Man apparel or own Spider-Man products, I rarely (if ever) debate Spider-Man lore with other fans, and I sure as hell don't dress up like a cast member and attend conventions. So while I am, indeed, positive with regards to Spider-Man, I really haven't crossed that line into fandom and I'm sure as hell not part of the scene, such as it may be.

I think that's an important distinction which this survey simply doesn't cover. I also think I've given this way too much thought, but hey... ;)

Well then you wouldn't be the target audience of this survey, now would you? Hehe.

Well, no...but I'm much closer than the average citizen.

I think anyone that can find a survey about furries is closer to the target audience than the average citizen

I was going to take it and answer nothing but "Other", but that wasn't an option on every question.

you just weren't trying hard enough, osprey. Oh how I'd like to see their faces when they get my results, and have every answer "rutabegas are cool"

I...was tempted to do something similar to bork their data. But...
