Could have fooled us.

Segovia, without MS paint I couldn't have made you that beautiful "scanning, retarded life form found" picture. It's entirely a necessity for any home computer!

You can find an OS X equivalent of any Windows program these days, and sometimes they're better. For example, the Seashore app for OS X is basically MS Paint with slightly moar power.

that's what wrong with you macfags. You assume that "more power" (read: no longer resembling MS Paint) makes it better than MS Paint. It's better than MS Paint at what it's made for, but in order to be that, it has to lose features that make MS Paint good for what MS Paint is made for.

That's why I said "slightly" more power. It's in the same class as MS Paint: a light image-editing program with simple features and a small system footprint. Seashore is just *slightly* more advanced, and I like its usability more than MS Paint's. So, yes, it is better than MS Paint for my purposes.

GIMP also has more power than MS Paint, but it is complex and large enough to be in the same class as Photoshop. So that IS one you can dismiss arguments of "better than MS Paint", because it is intended for different purposes.

mainly, if it has editable brush sizes, or any type of anti-aliasing ("paintbrush" tool), then it's not comparable

[edit:] I was going to add more things, but I realized that if it can do ANYTHING that MS Paint can't do, unless it's not a new feature, then it's not comparable lol

Still works in Vista, though not on a 64-bit OS since they removed 16-bit emulation

Interesting fact: The windows 3.11 minesweeper had one less column on beginner than in later versions.
