well, I heard that even the spore demo had some uncalled for type DRM, and uninstalled it soon after. So, I'm not that surprised that they pulled a stunt like this, but I am deeply saddened that game developers have not gotten the hint from the past two+ years that invasive DRM inhibits their sales, and is of questionable legality.

DRM sucks indeed. At least the music industry is finally starting to realize that it's not worth the effort most of the time (as evidenced by the increasing number of services that sell DRM-free tracks).

Heh, the game was cracked 3 days before it was released.
The purpose of DRM is /not/ to discourage pirace, the purpose of DRM is to /punish/ you for buying the game. Specifically, the purpose of DRM is to prevent resale.
For example, got an XBOX game you've gotten bored with, or don't like? Take it down to the store for store credit, sell or give it to a friend, put it up on eBay, whatever.
The purpose of DRM is to prevent that. That's the reason DRM exists - piracy has /nothing/ to do with it.

Wow two years of not buying a game and when there is finaly one I want, this happens.
