doc sigma, Edison invented the phonograph which uses wax cylinders, but a rival company used phonographs that used wax discs, and they won. it's like blueray vs HDDVD.

Good point. I had forgotten about that. Of course, then again I'm part of the generation that's like what the sam hill is a phonograph.

next time someone asks you anything about bluray vs. HDDVD, don't say "it's like betamax vs. VHS". say "it's like wax cylinder vs. wax disc".
