The World Ends With You

Postby Doc Sigma » Thu May 15, 2008 12:30 pm

If you have a Nintendo DS, you need to get this game RIGHT NOW. Seriously. It's the best RPG I have ever played. It breathes some much-needed fresh air into the RPG genre. Many sites and magazines are already calling it the Game of the Year, and at least two magazines have called it the best DS game of all time.

It's so freaking good that all I want to do is play it. When I'm not playing it, I daydream about playing it. I don't want to work or sleep or eat or watch television or play other video games, ALL I WANT TO DO is play The World Ends With You.

It's that good.

DeviantArt had a crappy art contest about it a few weeks ago. The deadline was within a week of the start.

I haven't played it myself (hey, I don't have a DS) but I am in an IRC channel with someone who has been playing it, and they've barely spoken about much else for around a week =P

So yes, I expect it must be good.

Just obtained it, played through the tutorial bit. Bit dull so far, hopefully that'll pick up.

Please, explain to us in depth and detail the kind of game this is.

I was like that with Elite Beat Agents for a while. Pure obsession over an awesome game.

An RPG you say? I'll have to give it a look, after I work on the backlog of unfinished games I still need to finish (Golden Sun TLA, Pokemon Diamond, others).
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving is not for you.

Elite Beat Agents is an amazing game, but I preferred the Japanese version of it (Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!) because although I couldn't understand the stories as well it was quirkier and had less Avril Lavigne.

Also it had guys in trenchcoats dancing to J-Pop. What's not to like?

Ohh... it will. Especially if you're a completionist.

Don't like Nintendo or RPGs much, so I'll stick to FarCry and Return To Castle Wolfenstein.
