Define Cynical Fan Forums

I am friend of Octan's and needed to know you all opinion on a certain topic.

I have been given approval to create a forum about his comics Podunk U and Mandy, BUT ONLY if I get enough people intested in joining the forum.

What do you think about me making a forum for Podunk U and Mandy?

I think you'll find a lot of free forum solutions on the intarwebs. Unfortunately, most of them are ad-supported.

There may be someone occasionally around that may be interested in offering space on one of his machines (with something like, say, SMF). No guarantees, though, as said individual is not me.

I would absolutely join that forum.

There is indeed such an individual. And I'm speaking with him about such matters now. However, I personally don't think my comics are popular enough to merit a fan forum of their own. I rather favor the idea that was brought up a while back of a collective forum for a bunch of comics by DC regulars. Lots of comics use forums that serve multiple strips at a time. The Nice, the Nightstar Zoo, PorpleMontage... seriously you guys. There's no need to be greedy about this.

In related news, the April Fool comic on Mandy was absolutely hilarious. I laughed out loud, and I don't do that so often these days.

I rather favor the idea that was brought up a while back of a collective forum for a bunch of comics by DC regulars. Lots of comics use forums that serve multiple strips at a time. I'll join, though I can't gurantee I'd post on as regular of a basis as I do here. DC is a rarity...most forums I post on once every couple weeks, if that.

Yes, I mean it's not like I've owned this domain name for just under two years now and we've had 1 downtime due to a server move and 1 due to an April Fool's joke, what an unreliable forum this is?
