So, the nominees are announced for the
2008 Ursa Major Awards.
O&M is nominated for Best Comic Strip, which I've won before, but I still wouldn't mind winning it again, so feel free to vote for me.

But, Thomas K. Dye, of "Newshounds" (and who is also one of my housemates), is also nominated in that category and has never won, so if you like both strips, do consider voting for us both, perhaps him for first place and me for second. Or, better yet, vote for me in that category and him for "best anthropomorphic other work" for his newest book, which he put a ton of work into. (I won that category myself in 2002, for a book I'd put considerably less work into. He deserves it more than I did.)
Anyway, vote as you see fit, but do vote! Preferably for us. The page where you vote is
http://www.ursamajorawards.org/Voting.htm.

Just voted. Had to give the nod to your housemate TK though. Been enjoying his Newshounds strip for well on 5 years now and I like the direction his Newshounds II is going in. So glad he decided to make a sequel. You got my 2nd place vote though and maybe next time you'll get my first place selection if your very good to me

This seems like it should be in the World News forum.

Not necessarily. I think it fits perfectly into the context of anything. I'd consider World Event topics more like newstories and such from all around the globe. That's just me though.

I got thoroughly distracted on that site, I did. However, in the end, I did not vote, as I felt that I did not know enough about all the entrants to make an informed choice.

Must you constantly undermine the democractic process?

How can I? It's not like the Ursa Major awards are just like the
Hugo awards: that is, it's just an elite circle jerk. (no offense to DCS)

Until I get nominated the award will remain a silly popularity contest that's beneath me and my comic.
However, if I ever get nominated that status is subject to change
