Georgia Snow

Don't adjust your screens. That's actually snow in the following pictures. It want stick around for long literally. It's too warm to stay on the ground. The only reason it looks like it's been accumulating is because it was snowing at such a high rate that it would build up on the ground before melting. Y'all may think I make to much of a big deal about snow but you have to understand, this doesn't happen much down here and it is a sight to behold when it does. These photos were taken earlier this morning by myself.

Hope these large images don't blow up anyones' computer.

Indeed, it's rare to see snow of any kind down here. We got some Wednesday night, but that too melted during the day on Thursday.

I turned on TWC when I got home from work and saw that (Jim Cantore was down there reporting on it), and I must say I'm surprised that it snowed that much that it stuck for a bit.

of course, up here in NY, expecially upstate, I'm very used to the cold and such.

I got 3 inches of snow on Thursday. Unfortunately, it happened too late. I was at work when this happened. The next day, my cab said he wouldn't come to take me to work, so i tried to sleep in. He called me again less than half an hour later to say he'd changed his mind. But that's just as well. Friday is always a fun day at work.

I just came back from my friend's house where about 6 of us had gathered. His house has a gigantic hill. The hill was filled with snow. You can guess where this is going.

So basically, I now remember just how much fun sledding down a steep, tree-filled hill is. Endless entertainment, let me tell you.

Isn't it ironic, don't you think, that its snowed more in Georgia recently than in Scootland? Like rain on your wedding day or the king commenting on what a peaceful day it is the night he checks into MacBeth's castle.

If we get that much down here in one day, I would think that the world was coming to an end. The closest we ever got to that was during the Blizzard of 93. Now that was some serious snow. I don't care how much sticks to the ground really, I just love to watch it fall.

I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for that interesting piece of info.

Lisa freaks out anytime it snows in Georgia, since it is so rare.

By the way, GeorgiaCoyote, around what area of Georgia do you live in? I'm in a suburb north of Atlanta personally.
