I'll start.
My Avatar is a picture of a Croatian partisan
Stjepan Filipovic who was hanged by the germans and
chetniks. And to a fact that he was hanged a half
hour earlier becouse of the antifascistic speach
he was giving to the local population. This same picture is hanging in the UN builbing, I bet you
didn't know that.

"Marty" came from the topic above, and he is now used across the forums as an avatar. "Marty ftw" means "Marty for the win."
My avatar came from Valve's "Portal" section of their Orange Box website. It is from a wallpaper collection that was available for download. Because, you know, Portal is great and all.

Mine is quite simply me.
I used photoshop to edit out the background and replace it with red and the hammer and sickle, and then played around with the colours to make it look more propaganda poster-ish.

I cropped it and added a custom background. There was a time when it expressed my personality here quite well, but I'm thinking about changing it to something more grown-up for this site. And the plushie my character is holding is not a bear, contrary to popular belief, but an otter. Kinda hard to tell from a partial headshot though.
