I brought up this subject a while back in IRC, but I figured I'd post it here to see if I could drum up some more interest.

It's looking like it's going to be a pretty interesting game. As long as it's well-moderated, it should be awesome. The developers are actually very responsive to the desires of the community and have been taking suggestions on everything from names to art to game mechanics in the forums.
Oh, and did I mention it's FREE? Hurray free!

Interesting, though why not any Human-person race?

{Tribes 2 reference}
Humans taste like... fish!
No! Humans taste like... Chicken!
Don't lose your head, yeh heh heh!
(But seriously, it says in the story page that they were wiped out about 4000 years ago in relation to when the game takes place)
*looks at the video on front page*
{elder scrolls reference}
Ooh, a Khajit! *shot*
...
IT'S A DRAGON! Do you get to play as the dragon? *goes to look up more info*
mmm (Millicent Mehitabel Mudd?)
Apparently not. Here's the full list.
Code: Select all
Anura (frog-people)
Atavian (bird-person)
Bandicoon (raccoon person)
Broccan (badger-person)
Foxen (fox-person)
Lisian (gecko-person)
Ursine (bear-person)
Taurian (bull-person)
Bounder (rabbit-person)
Feline (cat-person)
Tuskian (boar-person)
Hart (stag/deer-person)
Caprican (ram/sheep-person)
Longtail (rat-person)
Fangren (wolf-person)
Noctari (owl-person)
I'm
insulted! No squirrel person? I'll have to settle with the Bandicoon then >:(
On a side note, this game reminds me
slightly of
Lugaru which is like a fighting game. The sequel has been in development for a qwhile... but I haven't seen an update since earlier this year...

Yup, that be the reason. Humans are dead.

OH HAYULL NO.
I don't need another runescape to make me overweight again.

Oh no you did not compare this to Runescape.

Hmm, looks interesting. But, there's no mention of what animal group lives in the UK...
I'm hoping they're wolven at least...also, I'm secretly hoping for this to be a nice tie-in to a story I've been writing for about 4 years.

From what I can tell from the story, Harts and Broccans are from the UK. Fangren (the wolf-like creatures) seem to be from Italy.

They made up their own names for some species.
Example: Fangren.

Ooo, shiny.
I'm a little worried about how they're going to balance graphics quality with system requirements, though.
