I've had this tune in my head for ages, and I finally got my hands on a program called "Jazz" and set to work MIDIfying it. It's really the first time I've ever composed an actual piece with "parts" like this, so I'm rather proud of it (and also suspicious I just heard it somewhere, forgot about it, and later thought mistakenly that I was creating it myself -- it's happened more than once before!)
Clickie!
Oh, btw I found the program here.

As well you should be proud of it. It definitely possesses a distinct pattern, and its very Bach-like. Its pretty simplistic, which is good, because it doesn't need to be any more complicated; the simple melody and the accompanying harmony works perfectly well on its own. I think you should keep on composing, because this midi shows you have an aptitude for it. Kudos!
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

Bach-like, eh? I was going to say Pachelbel-like. (Saw this video earlier today, which is why I thought of it.)
Boy, Octan, you've expanded your online repertoire from cartooning to both poetry and composition in one day. I do like and encourage a Renaissance man.

Aye, half the chord proj is the same as that Cannon song. A few notes in that arpeggio orientated part sounded a tad off like on the F# minor chord you hit a D instead of a C# but I liked the melody, that was well done.
Also the intro could be improved some, like make it a tad more melodious as a sort of hint to the main melody and then turn it into the backing for the melody.
Definitely keep it up especially if you enjoy making it.

This all reminds me that my 5th movement to my own midi suite is overdue... by like a year.

Very nice! I liked it.
Don't kill me for saying this--but it reminded me of David Lanz. At least, the old, good Lanz.

Cameron is awesome because:
-Because he has an artistic style that is both complex and minimalist. This is profound!
-He once drew me as a roadrunner. It was an actual honest to god feral roadrunner, but a roadrunner nonetheless!
-He lives in Idaho among the wilderness and stuff and I envy him for that. 3:
-He is probably one of the most personable artists on here.
-I think he's the only one of us on here who drew a fanart that made it as a guest strip on O&M. This is an accomplishment!

I actually wrote that to be sung to a piano accompaniment, but I never managed to write a complete set of lyrics to it. Nor do I plan to in the near future; I like the music too much to ever hear mediocre lyrics sung to it.
Which doesn't mean I can't still compose instrumental stuff. I just have to figure out how to set the parts to separate instruments without it messing up (right now it changes them all at the same time and I don't know why), and preferably how to give the instruments separate volume levels. Maybe I'll just write the piano rolls in Jazz and import into Anvil Studio for that stuff. Between the two I've almost got a single decent program.

Didn't want to start my own topic... have some elevator music by yours truly.
