Bbbbbowling question!

Postby superFRO! » Thu May 31, 2007 11:19 am

So I went bowling yesterday, and before we could start and I could win (Yay me!) we had to decide on the gutter guards. I personally like to have them down, cause it's more challenging!

But when (if) you go bowling do you have them up or down? and why?

Gutter guards? What're those?

One would assume guards that line the gutter so you can't get gutterballs. Either as easily or at all.

I am just guessing here. I haven't gone bowling in ages; but if I did I would probably have them down, just for the sake of being more traditional. I know I would lose anyway. Might as well do it the old fashioned way.

That's basically it. It's for kids and people who are just learning to play.

I don't use them cause I don't need them.

I never knew there was such a thing as gutter guards. The first thing I learned was how to keep the ball from falling into the gutter. I was able to work on my aim that way.

As bad a bowler as I am, I'd be more embarrassed to use gutter guards.

I used to be good at bowling. Don't think I'm that good anymore, I might have lost my "touch". Then again I only bowled using the smaller balls. I never even heard of a gutter guard till I saw this topic... so... I'd have them not blocking the gutters...

Gutter guards off all the time! OH YEAH!!!
gforce422 is awesome because:
-He made the absolute nicest comments about me in the other topic. I didn't respond to them yet, because I suck, but they are greatly appreciated! =D
-I would say he would also be a good runner up as one of the nicest people alive.
-He joined the IRC sometimes. But not enough, I say! Chat moar =D
-He is evidently only 18 year old but he could easily pass for 25. =D
-He is a drummer like *I* am and this in itself is cool.

I'm a terrible bowler, but I'd say no gutter guards. They keep you from ever needing to get good at all.

PSSSSSSH! Gutter guards. Bowling is one of the few sports I'm actually decent at, so no, I never use them.

I haven't been bowling for yonks, however a friend suddenly remarked a few minutes ago that he was going whilst I was reading this which was odd.

Upon asking whether gutter guards were to be used he said 'NO how dare u'.

I have to use guards. Otherwise I'll be batting 0, unmetaphorically speaking of course.

I've always called them bumpers; and I don't use them anymore. I earned a biiig trophy once when I was in the league that still needed them, and 110 was considered a really high score ;)

Not a fan of bowling, in fact, I used to spend most of my time in the arcade wracking up scores on House of the Dead III

I played TIme Crisis... wasn't so good at it, but still fun.
