Pirates of the Caribbean

So I just saw the latest movie, and personally, I think it is great.
---SPOILERS---
It was hard at times to keep track of all the dealings the characters secretly made but it was great how they all coalesce in the end. I liked all the fantasy/history elements; how they linked the Calypso myth to the story, the way Jack was rescued, and hearing about the Brethren Court's history.
The only scenes that disappointed were how Will and Elizabeth kissed in the middle of the turmoil and how Lord Beckett just kept walking as his ship exploded around him. Also, it was a little unbelieveable how the Pearl's crew could outmatch Davy Jones's, but I just passed it off as the good guys (or as good as these pirates get) winning over the bad ones.

Some people who did see the first two have gotten frequently lost in it. Apparently, it's a complex mess, but a fun one.I haven't seen the first two movies, so I was totally lost throughout the whole thing.

It was a bit lacking in plot, and although I have seen all three movies, getting my head around all the various stories all going on at the same time was tricky to say the least.
I did very much like the getting-married/sword-fighting scene.
Plus, it has Johnny Depp dressed as a pirate. What's not to like?

I saw it earlier today, it was pretty decent for a third movie. Got a fair few chuckles out of some of the scenes, but for a three hour movie with the ending such as it was, I would have liked to see a massive battle between the other Pirate Ships and the English/East India Armada there in the end though, that would have been a nice way to finish the Pirates series.

I haven't yet seen it. I'm in the middle of my exams period at the moment; the movie came out on the day of my first exam!
Perhaps I'll reward myself by going to see it when exams are over, after the 31st. As for the other two films I enjoyed them, though the first more than the second. The second was just way too silly in places. (Fruit kebab, bone cages, rolling waterwheel..)

How rare!

I think she changed her mind after Will revealed it was Davy Jones who betrayed her. But, being a goddess she could do as she liked and so she wasn't about to give the Black Pearl an advantage when the two ships battled.and she did say she was going to kill all the pirate lords...
And Roo, Elscire's been in the chat for some time now, maybe you missed him there though.

I was also disappointed in the lack of a big epic armada fight. Or even an armada fight montage. And I would have liked some explanation as to why both Barborossa and Jack were Pirate lords even though they only had one ship between them. And the kraken got killed off-screen before the movie started. Most unepic.
I still enjoyed it though. Especially the unneccesarily grandiose and over the top sword fights.
