Define Cynical Fan Forums

I was wondering what music you people listen to. <br><br>I love the swing era and anything Ellington is golden. Other then that I'm a fan of classical Russian composers. In general I like anything that involves harmony. Like classical music (mostly the Romantic and Modern era's), jazz (mostly sing and older jazz), do-wop, bluegrass, and other popular (or unpopular) music that has interesting harmony.

You have no idea how much music I listen to, it's crazy. I can listen to any music, mostly as long as it has a good beat or isn't the 'I love you' song I'm fine with it.<br><br>

I'm such an oldies fan, I usually play them whenever I get a chance. Of course, that's not all I listen to, that list is basically whatever's playing at the time unless someone has the bass cranked up too high to get anything but thrown from your seat by it. And a headache. <br><br>In short, I'm rather passive to whatever's on, but tend to prefer music that I remember so I don't need to hear it to "hear" it and have most of the words (and their meanings) right.

I don't really go by band with music, but rather by sound. I can like one of a bands songs and dispise all the other songs they've performed. I also like instrumental pieces(e.i. no music), and theme songs. So basically if it sounds great to me, I like it. Which pretty much means I dislike most modern music. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... s/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo--><br><br>Oh yes - I love the oldies. Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits would have to be one of, if not, my definite, favourite song ever.

Heh. If it hurts my ears it's not loud enough.<br>I love the sound of bass, mainly because I play bass guitar. I don't like oldies or instrumental stuff. I can respect your tastes in music, but I just don't like it. For me it needs to be fast and heavy.

I can listen to just about anything and enjoy it, even a little bit of country, and what I listen to depends on my mood and what I'm doing. If I'm lounging around the house, stuff like Fleetwood Mac and Pink Floyd. If I'm hyper or getting ready to go out for the night, I like stuff like System of a Down and Staind.

I'm wondering whether anyone else will agree with me in my tastes?<br>I mostly listen to old blues or traditional/political folk music and some old country (non of this new Shania rubbish).<br><br>I know i've generalised a lot and i don't necessarily like everything by any artist but that consists of 80 % of what i listen to. I listen to other individual artists as well but not any other specific genre.

I like all sorts of music, I like rock,.. classic rock, soft rock, heavy rock Ie: Anything from system of a down to the beatles, with a little bit of sublime in the middle, tossed up with rammstien and Sugar ray.<br><br>I always listen to music when I write, draw, or play a game. Nothing works if theres no music.

I prefer 70's & 80's pop & rock. And I'm 17. Heh.<br><br>I think Alan Parsons, Robert Palmer, and Queen rank at the very top.

I think that if you play a song half tempo and it doesnt have anything too it that it's not a good song. I like upbeat but it still has to be interesting for more than just the tempo. Talking it half speed will make it sound different and almost always like a second song but it should still have some redeeming qualities.<br><br>Also volume is about contrast. The louds mean nothing without the softs to let you know theyre loud. Otherwise it's just unnecessary.

Anything but country. Right now, I'm listening to Billy Joel & Elton John singing Piano Man at the Face to Face concert. They rule, as does Weird Al Yankovic.

I prefer eighties rock (hair bands), particularly Guns 'N' Roses and Iron Maiden. I also enjoy most eighties pop and almost all music from the sixties and seventies. I can't stand most anything made after 1991, especially rap and newer pop, although there are exceptions (like Ozzy and Nirvana). I also listen to country on occasion, though not as much as I used to.<br><br>OFF TOPIC - Since the local radio stations don't play anything except the newest music (we have nothing resembling an oldies station), I bought <a href='http://www.xmradio.com' target='_blank'>XM Satellite Radio</a>, which has to be the best investment I've ever made in my 18 years of being alive.
