So according to just about every sidewalk on my campus, today is "National Coming Out Day." I guess if you're gay and haven't told anybody yet, now's your day to do it and celebrate who you are

. I was not aware a holiday such as this even existed.
Well, I'm not gay, so I suppose it's just business as usual for me today. *Sigh* Gay people get to have all the fun.

This does not sound like a good idea to me. People should come out when the time is personally ripe, not on some appointed day.
Some of us are just addicted to holidays.

I remember this one time I went to Disney or something and it was a day like this. Everybody that was gay was supposed to wear a red shirt for solidarity or something. On a sheer coincedence I was wearing a red shirt that day. My life is full of embarassing faux pas

If your in my area, there might be a rainbow within the next day, as it look to be about too rain.
Anyway, I think I heard about this before when I was making My Yahoo Av. They had shirts saying "National Coming Out Day" avalible, and bunched with them was a golden Gate Bridge background >.>
Anyway, I'm not Gay, so I don't have a reason to celebrate. But congratz to anyone who does come out.

Oh people are definitely too addicted to holidays. I still refuse to acknowledge "International Talk like a Pirate Day."
I too think this is something that people should do when they're ready and on their own terms (etc.). Of course, for the really insecure, it might give them the convidence knowing other people just like them feel the same way. So whatever works for you.

Not with an Enterprise logo, I hope.

This takes me back to when this forum had its own unofficial "Coming Out Day." It was in, oddly enough, a thread about what each person would do if they suddenly became President.

Sure, fine, go right ahead and ignore the rich heritage given by one of the first true democratic societies throughout the history of North America and Western civilization. :|
