Rooster, I hope your ok with this, but I had to make a topic for this one. For those of you who don't know, Rooster has a webcomic called Woods for the Trees, and Monday's strip was just.... HILARIOUS! I Must Bow before the comidic genious!
*gets on knees and bows before Rooster*

Yeah, but today's appears to be either a rerun or a retelling of an old joke.

Yeah, when I first read that strip, I thought, "Hm, that seems familiar..."
But then I saw the entry in his Deviantart and read the explanation.

As a Catholic, I should find this greatly offensive.........but I think that's pretty dang hilarious!
After all, the God I believe in has a sense of humor.

Well shucks, thanks guys
Beleive it or no, that's based on a conversation between me and my old housemate (who claims to be a satanist). But yeah, it's actually true. I've read the passage myself, but I still don't understand the whole concept of the religion myself.
Hope I amuse you as much in my later strips

There are multiple cults that claim to be the church of Satan, and their tenets conflict more severely than, say, Catholicism and Presbyterianism. I think the cults that have actual ethics, like not harming animals, merely use Satan as their symbol in an attempt to distinguish themselves from "the pipe-dream religions." I doubt they truly believe in Satan.

I always thought of satanism to be along the lines of "It is better to be at the hand of the devil than in his wake."

From what my friend says, Satanism as laid out in the Satanic Bible by Anton Lavey is just to do what you enjoy doing. That life is short, so enjoy it sort of thing.
At least, that's what he says. I've got no idea. I have my beliefs, and no book can tell me I'm wrong.

If that's true, then the site I saw made up a lot of baloney on the rules prescribed by that book. Besides, who needs an entire book to state the philosophy of doing as you like?

I have the Weird U.S book somewhere, it talks about this LaVey. Satanism had/has "ten commandments" apparently. Something about not harming women and stuff. Thast all i can remember.
On another note, I have to get updated on WFT. Wow, its... Woah... Seriously thats wasn't on purpose

Mmm... I seem to remember reading something similar from a fairly small encyclopedia on Magic and the Occult I borrowed from the local library... Was doing some reading up on Chaos Magic at the time

You mean
Men, Myth, and Magic? My school library has that, so if thats what you're talking about then I think I've seen what you're talking about. I didn't see anything on LaVey though.

WFT
Oh, I mixed that up with "WTF", which was why I wrote everything after that.
