This thread is more or less for ITunes users, but anyone who has downloaded may get in.
Ok, so some of you may have noticed I put the song, Kids in America by Kim Wilde in Now Playing thread, Well Imn only listening to one segment over and over again and why? Because ITunes won't sell it as a single! Just about everyone hear should know that song, and the only way to get it is by downloading the Daltry Calhoun Soundtrack, and most of the other music sucks! This is a CRIME! I WANT TO DOWNLOAD THE FULL VERSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the shiny white-clad claws of Apple begin to rip at the sanity of another unsuspecting member of the interweb world...

None of my music was paid for, so whatever. I don't download anything that people would pay for. All my music is from CDs I borrowed from people, or OC Remix.

iTunes also flat-out doesn't have Hips Don't Lie by Shakira feat. Wyclef Jean. The song was on the re-release of Shakira's latest album, and unfortunately, never made it on iTunes.

Also, iTunes costs money. If I had payed for all of the music I could potentially lose with my computer crash, I'd be several thousand dollars in the hole.

Heh. All of my music is either stuff I have from CD's, or from thingsvarious friends have sent me. Also there's a LOT of stuff I have that you could never find on ITunes, such as tracks from video games.

not true, pie. if you already purchased it you can download it again. you also might want to try not crashing your hard drive. I've had my computer for three years and it's only broken when I did the breaking myself.
...I once opened up a power supply and nearly caught my carpet on fire :-)

Err, you know there are these things called CD's that have music in them that you can put into iTunes. I have that song on a compilation CD, but it's not in my iTunes because I don't like the song.
Also, iTunes costs money.
If you buy an iPod you get iTunes download for free. Or at least that's how I got it and the only upgrade I've done to it so far was free as well. But now that iPod is popular it's become hip to reject it I guess.
Personally I have no qualms about iTunes (or iPod), it's a wonderful tool in my opinion. To be able to pick, choose and listen only to songs I like without the annoyance (now that an alternative is avaible it's suddenly an annoyance

) of having to listen to the whole CD or skip songs. I can just put the shuffle or a playlist on and let it operate in the background.
I've never got any music from the Apple store though. I don't spend money online, in any way. Besides I already had a substantial CD collection to transfer.

@Jack: I meant that the music costs money.
@Dr. Doog: Thanks for that advice, I had never tried not crashing my computer.

Yeah. And my iPod got all stupid on me. The menu button stopped working. It still responds, the backlight turns on when I hit it, but nothing else happens.
"I have an iPod shuffle with a screen."

People, there is a way!
It's called a CD player and it looks like this;
And you can burn your music to cds that look like this;
And they cost pennies! I got 100 for 5 quid yesterday.
Just because it's new technology, doesn't make it good technology in my books. I'd take reliability and durability (I've dropped my CD player about 100 times and it still works, my mate dropped his I-pod from a chair and it's knackered) over flashy white gimmicry and new-era hockus pokus any day.
Bring back the wax cylinder too.

That's why I have a case for my iPod. I've dropped it loads of times and it still works perfectly.

And, it fits in my pocket.
