Okay, just what is a furry!?
Is it a person who likes anthro art, is it anthro art, is it an anthro character I'm really confused here!!
Oh, and does surfing through Yerf looking for good art and complimenting the artists' when I come across them make me a fur? Or furry... or fuzzmutton.
Bleah!

Well, my understanding is that a "furry" can be a human who is a fan of anthropomorphic art or an anthropomorphised character, and "furry" can also be used as another term for anthropomorphic art.

In answer to your second question about Yerf.com, I would say that the activity you described does not necessarily make you a "furry".

For more information, a brief overview of the furry fandom and what it's all about can be found at http://www.anthrocon.org/info.cgi/about ...

If you have any questions that you don't want to put on the board, I'd be happy to try to answer them as best as I can, there's lots of contact info in my profile on here. Hope this helps!

I always thought it was just another word for anthropomorphic.

I thought it encompassed all the things Burning Sheep posed as a question.

For a crazy variety of definitions, check out Urban Dictionary.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.p ... br>There's three types of definitions there really, the extremely long ones that are obviously written by furries, the nice, simple, and to the point ones, which can be by anybody I guess, and the hilarious GRAWR FURREISAZ R TEH SUZXO0RZ ones.

I hate urbandictionary, someone actually defined me (uncle seffy). *pout* However, I did learn somewhat what "glomp" meant. Hurrah.

As for what a furry is, it's someone who likes humanized animals. Don't listen to those fools who say it's all about sex, they are just looking at stereotypes.

I agree. Trying to define a Furry is like trying to define a SF fan. All are fans, there are just varying degrees. I for example collect artwork and attend Midwest Furfest on a reguler occasion. I can appreciate the amount of work that goes into a number of the fursuits but I have no desire to wear one. (Things are hot as all git go anyway). I attend certain panels, attend certain shows (Notably Uncle Kage, and 2 the Ranting Gryphon). While I consider myself a furry I do not fit the sterotype.

The deffinition of a furry I go by is someone who enjoys looking ar or drawing Anthromorphic Creatures or a descriptiopn for an anthromorphic creature. Others would say however, it it someone who has a fetish for dressing up in fur suits and on occasion yiffing, I will not discuss yiffing because of the nature of this bopar and how that would definitely not be appropriate.

Quote:

Hmm...
So there's furry-haters now are there?

Yes there are, Eat All Furries comes to mind, thier like the furry's equivalent of Hitler

Quote:

As for what a furry is, it's someone who likes humanized animals.
