*serves everyone pie*
(Well, it works if you use the mm.dd date format.)

Ooh! I almost missed it again this year!
I recall that the folks at
ticalc.org go nuts on that day. It has quite the fanbase among calculator nerds.

I remember a couple of years ago, a camera crew came over here from another university to make a documentary about Pi Day. Basically, we celebrate by getting the Dean to serve the entire university pumpkin pie at 1:59, and hold a Pi recitation competition (Whoever can recite the most consecutive digits from Pi, starting at the beginning, wins a prize)

At my middle school we used to celebrate pi day by being forced to buy this little mini pies...

I wonder if the google logo will pick up a pie for one of the o's. They seem to have a special logo for everything these days.

For some reason, I doubt that will happen this year - they've got a special logo up today, and I rarely see them celebrate two consecutive days (outside the Olympics, which are done for the year).

Everyone who cares has probably seen this, but I might as well throw it out there anyway...

A couple of my friends and I were talking about it yesterday and how we were going to celebrate it. Yay for pi(e?)!

Is this like Pancake day?

I've never heard of Pancake day.
Pi day is the exact day of the year in which, as least in mm.dd format, the date is the value of Pi to two decimal places. It is celebrated by eating pie at 1:59 (because pi = 3.14159...).
As an interesting, yet unrelated, coincidence, it is also the birthday of Albert Einstein.
